A song-and-dance cabaret act with a twist – all the performers are dead!! Three dancers join two musicians on stage as a five-piece music hall troupe, dead, desperately downtrodden and travelling on a seemingly never-ending purgatorial tour.
Black comedy, clever yet gruesome lyrics, original live music and slick choreography combine to make an hour-long show of laughter and, possibly, tears. Described by the press as "richly entertaining" and "a spine tingling combination of deadly dance and dark ukulele-based songs", this show has something for everyone, whether you like dance, music or comedy! The Cholmondeleys (pronounced “Chumlees”) and the Featherstonehaughs (pronounced “Fanshaws) are led by Artistic Director Lea Anderson, with live music written and performed by composer Steve Blake and ukelele bashing minstrel Nigel Burch of The Flea Pit Orchestra. The show toured UK in 2008 (Glastonbury Festival, Latitude Festival and Edinburgh Fringe), garnering great reviews and audience responses.
Venue: Esplanade Theatre Studio, 8pm
Tickets: $35 (Concessions for students, NSF and senior citizens at $27)
