Flipside returns with Les Precieuses Ridicules (The Pretentious Young ladies) on 5 to 7 June

Newly arrived in Paris, two young country ladies aspire to join the fashionable “précieuses” crowd and get married in Paris. Their father and uncle introduce to them a pair of young suitors, but the ladies, disdainful of the young men’s gauche attempts to woo them, reject them with contempt and ridicule. The men vow to take revenge. Sometime later, two new suitors turn up. Extravagant in compliments, gallantries and sweet talk, the two young men sweep the young ladies off their feet. But are they really who the ladies think they are? Les Précieuses Ridicules (The Pretentious Young Ladies), written by French playwright Molière, is considered one of the greatest masters of comedy in Western literature.  Be delighted by Theatre Du Kronope’s refreshing reinterpretation of this famous comedy combining improvisation, contemporary music and physical theatre.
