Beauty & The Beast

Be spellbound by W!LD RICE yet again with the 6th installment of its highly popular musical pantomime—BEAUTY & THE BEAST.
True to tradition, W!LD RICE will give this all-time favourite fairy tale a modern twist and a local spin.

Hossan Leong, one of Singapore’s most celebrated stand-up comedians and a popular radio, television and stage personality, will return to direct his second pantomime. W!LD RICE’s Resident Playwright Alfian Sa’at, known for his cheeky satires, will team up with composer Elaine Chan, whose credits include the Dim Sum Dollies and four W!LD RICE pantomimes, to create a brand new show.
BEAUTY & THE BEAST features Emma Yong (one third of the Dim Sum Dollies) as Beauty and RJ Rosales (Chang in Chang & Eng) as the Beast. Lim Kay Siu (Frankie Foo in Phua Chu Kang Pte Ltd) stars as Big Boss Bong, Beauty’s Father, while the ever-versatile Chua Enlai slips into the heels of Desiree, one of Beauty’s hysterically vain sisters.
ABOUT BEAUTY & THE BEAST
Once upon a time, in a faraway land, there lived a merchant called Big Boss Bong and his three daughters: Brandy, Desiree and his youngest, Beauty.

One day, Big Boss Bong steals a rose from a garden as a gift for Beauty. He’s caught red- handed by a fearsome creature called the Beast who agrees to spare his life in exchange for one of his daughters.

And thus Beauty begins her adventures at the Beast’s mansion, where she encounters the fussy nanny Ah Ma Chow Chow, the excitable cook Baba Pongteh, and the sarcastic maid, Vacula Contessa.
Will Beauty ever escape from the mansion? Why does the Beast get tongue-tied in front of Beauty? And who is this mysterious exorcist called Master Kong Tao who has vowed to purge the mansion of its ‘unnatural’ elements?

From the same team that brought you last year’s runaway hit Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs, BEAUTY & THE BEAST is a spellbinding musical comedy, filled with laugh-out- loud jokes, fabulous song and dance routines, stunning costumes and sets... and singing utensils.
