7 April 2010 – Joining forces and bringing their dynamic voices, the Singapore Lyric Opera Children's Choir and Youth Choir is back to regale music lovers with The sound of music on July 3, 2010 at the Esplanade Concert Hall.
These versatile young voices will take on delightful re-arrangements of popular opera, music theatre, favourites from old movie soundtracks as well as a lively pop repertoire.
The Children’s Choir and Youth Choir are directed by Chorus Mistress and Conductor Ms Khor Ai Ming, assisted by Associate Conductor Cherylene Liew, with Lim Yan on the piano.
Highlights of the night includes charming tunes like The Sound of Music; Oliver; South Pacific; One Day More (from Les Miserables), Gershwin for Girls, California Dreaming, The Wind Beneath My Wings, Mister Sandman, West Side Story, Prayer (from Hansel and Gretel), Un Moto Di Gioja (from Marriage of Figaro), Barcarolle (from Tales of Hoffmann), Papageno/Papagena (from The Magic Flute), Flower Duet (from Lakme) and many more.

They approach their vocal art with such enthusiasm and their dedication is infectious. This Children’s Choir is supported in their songs with their sister group, SLO Youth Choir. The concert which celebrates the youthful energy and talented singers, provides great opportunity to showcase their performance skills.
