“A magical play with gripping emotional potency…a love letter to the world…” The New York Times
In Eurydice, Sarah Ruhl reimagines the classic myth of Orpheus and Eurydice through the eyes of its heroine as she journeys to the underworld and struggles to retain her memories of her lost love.
Dying too young on her wedding day, Eurydice must journey to the underworld, where she reunites with her father and struggles to remember her lover Orpheus. With contemporary characters and ingenious plot twists the play is a refreshing look at this timeless love story.
Directed by Edith Podesta with moving images, electro-acoustic music by Brian O’Reilly and performed by students of LASALLE’s Level 3 BA(Hons) Acting programme, in collaboration with students of BA(Hons) Technical Theatre and the School of Contemporary Music .
