The 7th Storey Restaurant allows for different dining experiences catering to different groups.

For first timers, the standard slew of food includes their famous Crab Noodle, Hainanese Chicken and Hainanese Pork Chop. This is in addition to the prime reason people come to this restaurant – their Charcoal Steamboat.

The first dish to arrive was the famous Crab Noodle. The Crab Noodle is cooked with plenty of ginger and spring onions in gravy that is simply heavenly. The magic of the Crab Noodle lies in the thick well prepared stock and the noodles were cooked to perfection. What was even more amazing were the chili red crab roe that filled the dish. Fresh pieces of crab were colored with red crab roe set against a back drop of green spring onions and a myriad of taste makes this dish a true must try.

7th Storey Restaurant is primarily a Hainanese restaurant and what is a Hainanese restaurant without steamed Hainanese Chicken and Hainanese pork chops. The chicken was tender and as well made as any good chicken rice places in Singapore. The pork chops were just as good. They were seasoned with tomato sauce and their chips in the pork chops were crispy.

Although a regular occurrence in Singapore food culture, charcoal somehow makes steamboat more traditional and tastier. I concur. The Charcoal Steamboat comes with a deliciously made soup. Coupled with the fresh ingredients, the Charcoal Steamboat is worth every penny.

A must try restaurant if you are yearning for traditional Hainanese food tinged with nostalgia. Service staff are pleasant and are more than willing to accommodate requests. A slight drawback to this place is its prices.
