Being one who appreciates visual arts, I am glad that Singapore's own museum is worthy of visiting. I simply cannot imagine a town without a museum. Shaking it up is the Muse Bar helmed by Chef Anderson who is one of my favorite chef in town.

Ever since the closure of Le Papillion, returning to Muse Bar certainly gave me a well deserved treat on a Sunday morning. The interior flaunts in elegance with a large antique mirror in the front scribbled with the menu for the day and european furnishings with those chocolate coloured drapes.

I chose a seat by the window and settled for their brasserie style breakfast menu which runs into lunchtime. The server came with a basket of breads for selection whie I was looking through the menu. Prompt, efficient and friendly. Well, this perks me up knowing that I am treated well as a diner especially being charged for 10% service charge.

I ordered a cup of cappuccino ($7) and the Salmon Breakfast ($24). Smoked salmon with sauted spinach and scrambled eggs were served on a toasted bread accompanied with slow roasted roma tomato and asparagus. All I could say it is very delicious that I felt so luxurious to be served such a heartening breakfast on a sunday morning. The ingredients used were very fresh and scrambled egg was well cooked, not too rubbery.

The portion was reasonable and am sure the rest of the menu will deliver with excellence. The table next to me which was a family with 3 kids were enjoying the breakfast set too. Other selections such as yogurt with muesli, sandwiches and fruit salad were available to cater to all ages. Isn't that wonderful?

Enjoying my cup of cappuccino while reading a book, I decided to give their dessert a try. I ordered the dessert for the day ($10) and it was fried banana fritters. I was served 3 triangular shaped phyllo pastries with banana, rum and raisin icecream with a tuile and fresh strawberries. Creatively plated and appetizing that is not too heavy on the diner after a meal.

The banana fritters were well made that with a bite, it is piping hot yet not too flaky and oily.

There is a bar right outside the restaurant serving up a good list of cocktails and beverages at night. I am certain the atmosphere here will be good at night in the open. It is quite unusual though to find a bar right in the center of Singapore's most venerated public buildings which will add a touch of vibrancy to this place.

Come here for a cosy casual french fare nestled within the architecturals of culture that is sure to bring you a sense of fun and excitement.
