Owned by the same group as the successful Raj Restaurant in Singapore, (http://www.rajrestaurant.com.sg/), Café Salivation complements its counterpart by serving non-Indian vegetarian fare. Located right opposite Mustafa along the Syed Alwi road, where many popular Indian vegetarian restaurants have made their mark, Café Salivation aims to add variety to the options available for vegetarians.

The café itself is a small cozy place, decorated in shades of pink. They also have seating upstairs, which can accommodate more than 20 people.

Café Salivation’s menu includes Italian dishes like pasta and pizzas; Mexican dishes such as Enchilada, Quesadilla, and Burrito; and an assortment of salads and sandwiches. In addition, they have innovative mocktails and mouthwatering deserts (all without egg!) They open for late breakfast at 10 am and provide a decent all-day breakfast menu. There is also a Set Lunch Menu (Mon-Fri) at only S$8.50++ per person, which includes a soup, a main course (a choice between 5-6 items) and coffee/tea.

We went in a group of four and ordered the Shoe String Fries and Tomato Olive Bruschetta as starters and the Burrito, Enchilada, Quesadilla and Spicy Paneer Toast (toast served with cottage cheese cooked in Indian style) as the main course. All this, plus 4 mocktails and a Heavenly Brownie cost us around S$60 inclusive of GST, which translates to around S$15 per person.

The portions served for the starters were quite small, but other than that the food tasted great – skillfully presented and customized to suit the Indian palate.

All in all, a neat and clean place, good ambience, friendly staff and good food – definitely worth visiting again!
