High Tea on The Knolls
Restaurant Review by Pastry Girl June 04, 2010 1548 views
Sentosa has always been one of my favourite places to go in town for chilling out with friends. Apart from the sun, sea and sand, the sumptuous food on this island is also an culinary delight to this foodie!
With 2 of my close friends, I brought them to a newly established resort hotel that is much talked about in town. It is an absolutely luxurious hotel with rooms starting at an eyewatering $750 per night and so we were prepared to fork out to dine there after digging deep into our pockets.
The restaurant was rather quiet when we visited which was not a surprise as the whole hotel seemed so quiet and human-free. It was a blessing in disguise as we can enjoy the ambience and time together without disturbance.
We were there for high tea and was glady surprised at the affordable rates. For a tier for 2 pax, it comes with complimentary tea from a wide selection for just $28++. After looking through the ala carte menu, we decided to order the Capella's signature sandwich ($24).
The high tea set had 3 tiers offering assorted sandwiches, scones, dry tea cakes and madelines served with fresh clotted cream, strawberries and jam. I really heart the clotted cream with scones which had cranberries loaded in it. My friends enjoyed the sandwich tremendously and the fries accompanying it was one of the best in town!
There were about over 30 selections of tea that we could choose from that we spend a good time browsing through deciding which flavour we would like to have. That's the problem when you have 3 girls dining together and when every flavour sound good to give it a try. How undecisive and flicker minded it can get but on the other hand, it's extremely awesome to attract those who loves tea to this place for high tea session.
I really adore this place but it is quite inaccessible to get here without a car. Apart from that, I would recommend this place for celebrations and if you would like to have an exclusive experience for friends from abroad. My 2 friends had a pleasant afternoon exploring the resort and one of them said it felt like they were not in Singapore. I totally agree with them!
