A Delectable Duck Dining Experience

With a name like Super Peking Duck, one cannot help but wonder if anything else is good on the menu. Fortunately, the Imperial Treasures Super Peking Duck offers more than just good peking duck.
Walking into the restaurant, you are immediately comforted by the luxurious decor and a familiar setting.
Coming to this restaurant without ordering Peking Duck is almost like going to Beijing and not visiting the Great Wall. But be warned, try to make rerservations and pre-order the Peking Duck in advance.
The Peking Duck (S$68) was deliciously succulent and there was plenty to go around for a party of four. I like the fact that the chef carving the duck had kept a little bit of the meat left on the skin. What was better about the peking duck was the wrap itself. The wrap was neither dry nor too thick.
What was most delicious was the Pig Trotters (S$30). It was tender and the gravy was rich and balanced. The vegetables which was by the side was also just as delicious, despite the deceivingly simple presentation. This was recommended by the staff and it was a wonderful recommendation. I recommend this.
We had the Beancurd with Sea Cucumber (S$24). This dish served sizzling hot in a pot was a comforting dish and went very well with rice.
The let down was the Penang Style "Hor Fun" (S$18). We ordered that to see if it was as good as the ones we had in Penang. Unfortunately, Hor Fun was a bad name. We expected the gravy filled dish with seafood, but instead got Penang style Char Kway Teow with Hor Fun type noodles. It was a case of mismatched expectations.
Honestly, service was not good. This is not to say that the service staff were rude. Somehow or other, our orders came out in very weird timing. The first 2 dishes were served really quickly. After that, we had to wait at least another 30 minutes before we got the rest of our food. Even then, the service staff was less than attentive. Blaming the kitchen for having operational issues was not acceptable. This is afterall an Imperial Treasures Restaurant
