Swirling Good Smooth Gelato

My heart was beating with excitement on the journey to Swirl Gelateria on the bus ride despite the inevitable traffic jam during the peak hours.

I have always been a fan of Tom's Palette's wide selection of interesting local flavoured ice cream.  Not that I am bias because I know the couple who always strive for to improve their flavours, but they do offer uniqueness with quality at affordable prices. 

Knowing that there's a cosy little gelato boutique in Bukit Timah, it is definately worthy to be checked out. Their gelato can be swirled with different choice toppings available for the dessert fushion lovers. Nuts, chocolate rice, dried fruits, you name it, they have most of it. Isn't it heavenly?

As usual, I would go for rum and raisin which is my all-time favorite. I must confess theirs is really good. Well made with rich rum taste and the raisins are not too hard and dry. There is simply a difference between good and bad quality raisins. Oh yes, did I mention that my cranberry sorbet was superb? As an avid baker, I always use cranberry in my products and the sorbet has a distinctive cranberry flavor! This is a must try!

My friend, Toon, had durian and strawberry ice cream. Though he has been living in that district for 30 years, it was his first visit and he simply fell in love with it! 

Next, we tried their special pratza - a fushion of pizza and prata. It was made upon order and it looked like a malay styled prata with toppings of an italian pizza. I call it the "italay". 

The slice of pizza was average and did serve to fill our hungry stomach for a pre-dinner snack. I was plesantly suprised to see that they offer a small selection of hot food for those who would want a bite in that quiet Crown Centre.

To end it off, the quiet ambience is good for those who would want a slow relaxing evening after dinner for a nice cold gelato.

As they say "Our satisfaction comes from your satisfaction", yes, I am satisfied. I would certainly return to try their other special creations with a larger group of friends for a swirling good time!
