Fifo Food Review > Miss Clarity Cafe & Restaurant (Purvis Street )
Clearly, a winning concept

Despite the feminine name and even more blatantly feminine interior (shocking pink walls and schoolgirlish fonts), Miss Clarity packs a pretty powerful punch. Popular with the Raffles City yuppies, this tiny cafe on Purvis St is a new gem that I am predicting will fill up fast. when we came at 6.30pm on a Sat night, we were told that all the tables were reserved, and were only allowed a table after promising to finish in an hour.
An hour turned out to be plenty, since the dishes were really tasty and we couldn't get enough of them. The menu is large and diverse, with pastas, burgers, pizzas, seafood and salads. Kudos to the chef who put imaginative twists on Western classics, coming up with Fish Cordon Bleu and Chicken Ballotine (oven-baked chicken thigh stuffed with fresh shitake mushrooms). Miss Clarity prides themselves on preparing food ala-minute (i.e. on the spot) and true to their promise, our entrees were served nice and hot. Fresh food just tastes that much better!
Desserts are another big draw at Miss Clarity, and I would go there just for the Valrhona Bar (a slab of rich French chocolate, mousse and praline biscuit). Bring friends to share the Warm Bread & Butter Pudding (with vanilla ice cream!) or the Chocolate Fondue (for 1, 2-3, or 4-5 persons) - they're too good to keep to yourself!
The best part of dinner was that 3 entrees and 2 desserts came up to only $30. My only grouse was that the waitresses took really long to notice us, both when we ordered and when we wanted the bill. In all fairness, the restaurant was really busy.
But in short, tasty treats with good value for money. You go girl!
